Bealtaine Blessings 2023
While Beltaine celebrations were going on up and down the length and breathe of England, over here in Ireland I decided to celebrate Beltaine by visiting the beautiful Blarney Castle & Gardens. And what a stunning day it was to celebrate the first day of summer.
All the tree's were showing their new green foliage, the woodland floors carpeted with bluebells and the garden paths lined with wild garlic flowers. The mood was uplifting. Loads of wildlife made an appearance with mice rustling around, birds flapping lively and later that day I came across a frog which made me very happy indeed since I hadn't come upon one in quite a few years.
The month of May has to be one of my favorite months of the year because the tree's and plants go into full swing with green growth and of course the arrival of warmer weather. The weather we had in March and April this year was highly unusual in that it rained constantly pretty much for the whole month of March. April wasn't much better with lots of cold North and Easterly winds. The slugs had a field day of course in most gardens due to the extra wet weather and the fly fishing didn't take off at all. So this year I was extra relieved to see the month of May arrive.
While visiting the castle grounds I walked to the Druids Cave and Stones. The place was full of great energy.
