Winter Solstice at Drombeg Stone Circle 2023

 I spent the day before the winter solstice debating whether or not to travel to Drombeg for the sunset of the winter solstice on the 22nd. Reason being, the weather was so patchy with rain and cloud. 

So by lunchtime the following day I decided to take my chances and travel West hoping to see those sun rays setting in the v notch on the westerly hilltop and onto Drombeg Stone Circle. 

I arrived an hour early before sunset and watched people arrive gradually. People from all walks of life, ages and creeds coming together to watch the spectacle of the solstice. The clouds started to clear up as we got closer to the time of sunset and all those who waited patiently were rewarded to see the rays of sunlight pass though the stone circle.
